YOUTH CENTRE REOPENING

The Southmead youth club had its grand opening on Tuesday the 4th march by Cliff and Nuki from CLIFFS FLORISTS , Also the councilors Jenny Smith and Peter Hammond both Labour for Southmead attended, having campaigning for extra resources for the centre for some years.

The centre offers a wide range of activities information and sports for the young people of the area. In total 140,000 pounds has been spent on the club with a new roof, windows and a lift for Disabled access to the building. There are special nights for young mums, girls nights, disabled session, art and music Programes. Other activities include Five a side, Netball, Boxing and an Art room.

They also have a new leader in charge running the club called, Marie Manser who is a senior youth and community worker. The Southmead Christmas carol bus has donated money to the Boxing club, and the southmead girls football team.
