Southmead Community Sport U7/8's vs Bradley Stoke United U7/8's

This match was greeted by much excitement amongst the players and parents as this was Southmead's first ever match together and it gave them a chance to wear their new kit, kindly sponsored by Cliff Howell through the Christmas Carol Bus Appeal. The Southmead squad of Under 7 and Under 8 players was made up of 12 children; they were Blake Hoskins, Josh Bowering, Regan Sutherland, Daniel Griffin, Josh Cotterell, Luke Harrison, Kyrone Vince, Connor Davies, Luke Thomas, Daniel Bartlett, Darren Clarke and Gage Whittingham-Slade

The match itself was very enjoyable to watch. Southmead competed very well against a strong Bradley Stoke squad with a bit more experience. Southmead scored 3 good goals through Daniel Griffin, Connor Davies and Josh Cotterell.

Parents and players at junior football level must always remember that playing and enjoying themselves is the most important part of it all, results are NOT important. For children to do that they need the support and encouragement of their parents and coaches, and I am pleased to say that the 12 players that represented Southmead on Saturday received that.
